About Me
I am Galadriel Watson.
Storytelling has always been my drive, both visually and with words. Whether it has involved publishing articles in the New York Times, comics in the Washington Post, or children’s books with Annick Press, or working as a graphic designer with an ad agency, my goal has always been to engage with audiences in a meaningful way.
My linocut art is a powerful way to do this, and I’m excited to connect directly with you, the collector.
Reproductions of my linocut prints have also been featured in media like Wander Magazine, hélas and the plant guide A bunch of Malvaceae.
I live in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada, with my husband and dog. (I’m also a cat person, but unfortunately feline-free at the moment.) I have two grown children, who are the pride of my life.
I’ve combined all my worldly experiences to create the art you see today. While studying for my bachelors’ and master’s degrees (see my writing bio here), I soaked up art courses, too. Whenever I visit a city, my priority is to prowl an art museum. I cherish art books. My mother and aunt are artists, and so was my grandmother—and I thrill today to work at my grandmother’s vintage art table.
Every day, art colours my world. I hope my art can colour yours!
